The Kooks entzünden Nostalgie

In den Nullerjahren prägten sie mit ihrem Sound eine ganze Ära britischer Indie Musik. Und wenn wir irgendwo ihre Songs hören, müssen wir einfach sofort mitsingen. "Naive", "Seaside", "She Moves in Her Own Way", "Oh laa"...kaum zu glauben, dass diese Songs alle auf einem Album drauf waren. 20 Jahre später sind The Kooks immer noch da. Sie haben 2025 das Album Never / Know releast und kommen damit bald auf Tour. Und sie sind erwachsen geworden, oder? Im Interview mit egoFM Gloria erzählt Luke Pritchard von The Kooks über ihr Jahr als Band und was sie im neuen Jahr alles planen:

"We just had like this kind of magical year you know, we ended the year [2025] doing Jools Holland [Anm.: britische Talkshow - we haven't been on for 20 years. The spirits are high, we are seeing a new generation pick up on the band and the last album that we did I think we just tried to tap back into the roots of the band and that seems to ignite some nostalgia again and we just feel in a really good space." - Luke Pritchard

20 Jahre Inside In / Inside Out

Dieses Jahr markiert das 20-Jährige Jubiläum ihres Debüts Inside In / Inside Out. Werden The Kooks auf Tour also auch ein paar der alten Hits auspacken?

"Oh yeah, yeah we're more like the Rolling Stones and The Cure. We will definitely play all the stuff that hopefully people will want to hear. I mean it's hard now [with] seven albums, but it will be amazing! We'll probably play one song from the latest album, the one we're working on right now, we'll play a bunch from Never/Know and it will just be a celebration of the 20 years really." - Luke Pritchard
